UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications is looking for a passionate, skilled web professional to join our team to support our website, uwmedicine.org. The Web Producer reports to the UW Medicine Web Operations Manager. They will play a critical role in maintaining our service-level agreements through the UW Medicine web request queue, making website updates, and managing user permissions and workflow in our CMS.
The Web Producer is responsible for web page creation and content oversight. This role is an advocate for public website content and enforces content quality standards: creating and maintaining front-end content processes and documentation, building out web pages in the CMS, reviewing other web producers’ changes in the CMS workflow to ensure they meet editorial and technical guidelines.
The Web Producer works closely with colleagues in Strategic Marketing and Communications, closely partnering with the Web Team to support the implementation of functionality, features, and the identification and resolution of content, UX, and CMS issues. Additionally, they will collaborate with people and teams both inside and outside Strategic Marketing & Communications to support website content updates. With direction from Strategic Marketing & Communications leadership, and in partnership with the Marketing team, the Web Producer:
- Services user requests and updates content across UW Medicine’s highly-trafficked enterprise web properties;
- Works with the web team to create and enhance features on our websites to improve visitor satisfaction;
- Adheres to web standards and accessibility guidelines and employs tools for building world-class online experiences;
- Communicates with stakeholders on project requirements, activities, and statuses;
- Manages Drupal user permissions and workflow, web tool user accounts, permission levels, and rights management; and
- Shares in training new users on a variety of CMS platforms.
The Web Producer is detail oriented, able to understand the technical complexities of a content management system (CMS), while also championing the larger user experience.
This role requires broad knowledge of website and marketing technology and strong analytical skills.
To succeed in this role, the employee must be a collaborative, open communicator skilled at a process-oriented approach to providing a consistent and reliable user-centric web experience.
This position participates in the deployment, management, maintenance and ongoing operations of an enterprise content management system for UW Medicine. They will play a key role on the web team by providing technical expertise that supports UW Medicine’s strategic efforts. Must be a critical thinker and creative problem solver who exercises good judgement in resolving difficult situations and can balance competing priorities.
