The WMS Training Manager is responsible for design, development and delivery of training for the WMS systems within UW Medicine.
This position carries significant responsibility for the overall training approach for WMS systems within UW Medicine. UW Medicine has four primary systems that are complex; UW Hires, Kronos, LMS and coming soon, Workday. Training new employees, especially managers and leaders, is an important role that lends to the success of new employees. Plan, develop and provide an on going training plan for employees as systems change due to new bargaining agreements or system enhancements. Review and analyze training using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, online job aids and on demand presentations to better utilize the technology available for reaching a large workforce. Manage the effectiveness of trainers providing the hands on training. Measure the success of all area's of training provided and modify when needed. Deploy a wide variety of training techniques to reach a large employee population.
This position impacts all of UW Medicine and it's entities. Understanding how to use the numerous WMS systems within UW Medicine will impact job performance and job satisfaction. Not being able to accurately utilize the technology can result in financial impacts to UW Medicine.
Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, system functionality and input from leaders at both Medical Centers. This position will partner with Administrators from HMC and UWMC to identify the WMS systems and the training needs. Working with Administrators from both Medical centers to develop and implement a plan for ongoing training for multiple groups including leadership, management and employees. Build solid cross-functional relationships. 45%
Develop and coordinate a strategic plan for training new managers and leaders, incorporating multiple WMS systems into the training. Develop and coordinate a Kronos training approach that would include overall Kronos functionality down to specific roles within departments at each Medical Center. Develop and implement a strategy for standardizing the use of Kronos and Workday across UW Medicine. Direct and develop the training staff to effectively implement and deliver the training strategy. Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, on line website and individualized training plans for varied employee groups. 55%
Design, develop and deploy a training plan across UW Medicine. Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand the unique training needs of the Medical Centers. Measure success and modify when needed.
Supervise a trainer and specialist. Develop and assign work. Mentor positions. Manage time and performance.
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Business
4 - 5
Proven work experience as a Trainer in a large organization.
Successful track record in designing and executing successful training programs.
Experience developing a training plan that addresses needs and expectations.
Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods.
Ability to collaborate with multiple entities to understand unique training needs.
Ability to build solid cross-functional relationships.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
Ability to monitor and evaluate training program's effectiveness, success and modify when needed.
DESIRED:
Experience with Kronos and Workday applications.
Experience in a Healthcare setting.
