The UW Finance Transformation Program (UWFT) is a $200M initiative to replace the University’s financial systems with an integrated system to manage the full suite of financial transactions and reporting needs in the UW system – to include academic, administrative, and healthcare. UWFT will fundamentally change the processes and tools that the University employs to track, spend, collect, manage, and report University finances in excess of $7B in annual revenues, resulting in more timely and actionable information for leadership. Among the UW’s highest administrative priorities, this multi-year initiative is one of the largest finance system projects in Washington State and the outcome of the program will be highly visible at all levels of the University and the state.
The University of Washington is seeking a full time Workday Integration Lead to play a key role in the implementation of an enterprise-wide Finance and Supply Chain system, and the modernization of related business processes.
The Workday Integration Lead will have responsibility to manage the UWFT Integration deliverables associated with the Workday Finance implementation. The Workday Integration Lead will work with business and system owners as well as program leads to gather requirements for point-to-point integrations between Workday and other systems. The Integration Lead will oversee the design, development and testing for the Workday Integrations considered in scope for the UWFT program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integrations Delivery Process Design and Management
This role will lead the organization in preparing for and delivering the various integrations that will be required to successfully integrate the new Finance system with existing enterprise university systems. This includes:
* Ensuring the right project, vendor and university representation at all relevant design sessions.
* Conducting capacity planning for Workday integrations team to ensure coverage for design, build and unit test activities
* Coordination with consultant resources and other program technical leads to develop common practices and quality control checks
* Ensuring the creation of integration design documents, assisting as necessary.
* Ensuring an accurate record is kept of all design decisions.
* Devising and managing a schedule of the delivery of the designed integrations to align with the overall project timeline.
* Reviewing and contributing to the overall testing strategy and plan
* Ensuring issues that arise with integrations during testing are tracked and addressed.
Technical Solution Selection, Design, Build and Unit Test
* Assess current state integration inventory and adapt into future state inventory based on integration strategies
* Rationalize data integrations to propose common solutions
* Be knowledgeable in the Workday Integration Toolset to inform technical design decisions
* Contribute to the review of integration configuration to ensure common practices and design requirements are implemented
* Contribute to the design, build and unit testing of assigned integrations
* Mentor less experienced staff in integration discovery/design/mapping sessions, technical design documents, Workday configuration and testing activities
* Monitor Workday releases for impact on current and future integration build configuration
* Actively seek opportunities for reducing the integration landscape complexity with common solutions for inbound/outbound data integrations
Team Leadership and Facilitation
*Help define the required competencies of and staff the Workday integration team.
*Build effective working relationships with project team members and key stakeholders, including the functional and testing team members, who will coordinate with the Workday Integrations Lead in a matrixed relationship.
*Conduct regular team meetings and meet frequently with project and business stakeholders.
*Conduct annual performance reviews for direct report project staff.
*Work closely with vendor resources to ensure the UW and vendor resources are working as a single team. Ensure knowledge related to integration configuration, validation and support is transferred from vendor resources to the UW team.
Communication
*Identify and articulate issues for escalation and contribute to project status reports and other key project deliverables.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
