Wellness Counselor
The Wellness Counselor, available at the Psychologist or Counselor level, provides culturally affirming brief, focused individual counseling, group therapy and workshops, initial consultations, and crisis assessment and intervention to a diverse student population within the College of Veterinary Medicine. You will provide wellness, mental health, and academic counseling and coaching to veterinary students, veterinary house officers and graduate students to enhance an inclusive campus climate for student success. To a lesser degree, you will also consult with faculty and staff or groups, proactively provide informational and educational programming, serve as a liaison with agencies and programs outside of the college, maintain website and other outreach efforts, and participate in the development and delivery of wellbeing activities. This includes participating as a team member in the planning, mentor training, and implementation of the Cougar Orientation and Leadership Experience (COLE), contributing to course offerings to veterinary students, and developing and delivering well-being activities.
