About the Position
University Residences is recruiting for a Communications Consultant 2. In this position you will bring your dynamic and creative leadership to develop, direct and implement communication and marketing strategies for Housing. Your scope of work will include marketing campaigns, website and graphic design oversight, supervision of tour programs, creation of brochures and department communication with students, guide branding and directing of social media efforts.
You will be a part of the Occupancy, Communication and Administrative Services team within University Residences and serve as the marketing and information design specialist.
This position requires on-campus presence each week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in designing high quality imagery for the web using standard web graphic design tools (Microsoft Office applications and the entire Adobe Creative Suite.)
- Two years’ professional experience designing, writing and preparing information for web and print, especially in a marketing setting using specified style guides
- Demonstrated experience with social media, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Demonstrated experience with publication editing
- Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and pay attention to details
- Demonstrated excellent written communication and public speaking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to accept feedback on, and make changes to, creative work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related area
- Working knowledge of the Banner Student Information System
- Familiarity with campus housing in a higher education setting
- Understand user-centered design processes and information architecture principles
- Experience with visual information design
- Experience with photography, video and image editing concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Drupal Content Management System.
- Experience handling confidential information
Competitive candidates will have strong experience in writing, marketing, and visual communication, demonstrating an ability to design effective communication that adheres to style standards, intended outcomes, and promotes mission.
Salary
Starting at $50,256 including an excellent benefits package
