Location: Langley, WA
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration of multiple servers in a corporate IT environment. The Administrator will handle on-site and remote management, maintenance, upgrades, backups, troubleshooting of server systems, databases, software and associated licenses. Support for internal software applications that used by all aspects of business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT NECESSARILY LIMITED TO:
- Administer and support all aspects of a Hybrid Onsite/O365 Microsoft AD environment
- Administer and support associated SQL databases
- Administer and support all aspects of a Hybrid Onsite/O365 Exchange environment
- Administer upgrade and migration projects of core services while ensuring business continuity
- Participate in ongoing strategic and resource planning, development and documentation of network, SAN, and virtualization infrastructure
- Work with the Director of Technology to design, coordinate and implement regulatory and security compliance policies and procedures
- Lead IT projects including lifecycle upgrades, application design, requirements and documentation
- Work closely with clients, vendors, and colleagues to identify and resolve complex issues or problems that impact our employee’s IT needs
- Develop department procedures for all installations and configurations; system updates/patches; and pro-active support on virus protection
- Provide input on identifying current and future resource needs and corresponding justification of required resources and participate in technology review and purchasing decisions
- Provide technical support to help desk technicians and coworkers. Requires working with third-party vendors via email, telephone, web
- Manage all server, systems, services and applications backups
- On-Call duties as needed
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong systems knowledge, including deep familiarity with Microsoft Windows network operating systems and the supporting architecture of Active Directory, DNS, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of O365 administration
- Customer service-oriented attitude (good people-skills)
- Experience with Exchange administration and trouble shooting
- Experience with SQL database administration and trouble shooting
- Strong programming and/or scripting knowledge to support workflow automation
- 5+ Years of Windows Server environment administration and configuration
- 3+ Years of Windows PowerShell programming
- Solid understanding of virtualization concepts and industry best practices (VMware Infrastructure and, VDI and Data Center solutions - vCenter, View Manager, ESXi, etc.)
- Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and resolution efforts and be commited to resolving technical issues regardless of effort or timeframe required.
- Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands on experience monitoring and analyzing system performance data
- Ability to clearly document technical requirements and translate complex solutions into an accurate, concise and easily understood record
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Proven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems integration and design including writing operational specifications, test plans and requirements with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to perform job functions with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Willing to work off-hours as needed
- Valid WA State Driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Valid Enhanced WA State Driver’s license or Passport
