Statewide Senior Facilitator for Projects & Strategic Initiatives
Washington State University Extension – William D. Ruckelshaus Center, Statewide Senior Facilitator for Projects & Strategic Initiatives. Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor who is a conflict resolution professional with extensive knowledge and relationships
across the public policy landscape in the State of Washington, as well as experience leading and managing complex collaborative governance projects. The position’s primary duties are to:
1) assess, develop, design, coordinate, communicate, manage, and facilitate Center collaborative governance policy projects;
2) provide a leadership role for the Center in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that fulfill the Center’s long-term vision and mission;
3) expand the Center’s areas of expertise, and reputation across the state and nation; and
4) interact with faculty, staff and students at UW and WSU, often managing or working with them as part of a project or research team.
5) Other duties include maintaining relationships with and providing guidance to the Center’s Advisory Board as well as providing expertise and guidance on the Center’s development and fundraising efforts, delivering training, supporting research functions, and meeting a variety of administrative responsibilities and scholarship expectations as a member of the Center’s core staff and WSU Extension faculty.
This is a 12-month (subject to renewal), promotion track, full-time faculty position to begin February, 1, 2020, or as negotiated, located at the WSU Downtown Seattle, WA office.
Required qualifications:
1. Earned Master’s Degree in a related field, at the time of hire.
2. Minimum five years’ experience as a neutral facilitator in collaborative governance and multi-party public policy conflict resolution.
3. Knowledge of process, ethics, policies and procedures of fundraising, and experience with philanthropic strategies and tactical implementation.
4. Demonstrated ability in organizational visioning and long-term strategic planning.
5. Relevant experience working with public policy making processes across public, non-profit, private and civic sectors.
6. Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and issues across public, non-profit, privation and civic sectors.
8. Demonstrated experience working on statewide issues with a high level of visibility.
9. Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire. Screening of application materials begins December 6, 2019 and will continue until position is filled.
